What is a Monthly Knicker Subscription?
The Lingerie Letters Monthly Knicker Subscription is for women who love a little surprise. Every month, your Panty Pen Pal, Lily, chooses a new limited-edition Knicker design especially for you. Your Lingerie Letter arrives with your surprise pair (or two) of Knickers, designed and handmade with love in Cape Town, South Africa, along with Lily’s latest Knicker-themed poem.
You pick your subscription plan, style (coverage preference) and size — then Lily takes over! Your style choice determines the range of styles Lily can choose from, while the exact design, fabric and colour remain a surprise.
How does the Monthly Knicker Subscription work?

Full Coverage, Barely-There, Surprise Me or Matching Pairs.

Full Coverage

Surprise Me
Feeling adventurous? Let your Panty Pen Pal, Lily Chantilly, choose between Full Coverage and Barely-There for you. Your coverage and Knicker style will be a surprise, with Lily usually alternating between Full Coverage and Barely-There styles each month.
Matching Pairs
Prefer a little coordination? Choose Matching Pairs and receive two matching Knickers every month — one Full Coverage style and one Barely-There style. Because good things come in twos!
What is a Pre-paid Knicker Gift Subscription?
Want to give the gift of a Lingerie Letter? Or fancy trying us out without signing up for a recurring subscription? Our Lingerie Letters Pre-paid Knicker Gift Subscription is a fun and unexpected way to treat someone special — or yourself!
Choose a 3, 6 or 12-month Gift Subscription, and she’ll receive a surprise pair of limited-edition handmade Knickers each month, along with Lily’s latest Knicker-themed poem and special Lingerie Letter packaging.
Pre-paid Gift Subscriptions automatically end after the selected term, so there’s no ongoing subscription for the recipient to cancel. They also save 10% compared with paying month-to-month.
How does the Pre-paid Knicker Gift Subscription work?

Is there a cut-off for Subscription sign ups?
Indeed there is.
We have a monthly cut-off at midnight on the 15th of each month for new Subscription sign-ups.
If you subscribe before midnight on the 15th, your first Lingerie Letter will be made and sent the following month. We usually ship Subscriptions from around the 16th of the month, with delivery expected between approximately the 20th and 25th.
For example, if you subscribe on 10 September, your first Lingerie Letter will be made and shipped in October.
You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number, along with information on how to track your parcel.
Missed the 15th? You’re welcome to pop Lily an email at [email protected], and she’ll let you know if we’re able to accommodate a late sign-up. We’ll always do our very best to get your first Lingerie Letter to you as soon as possible.

How can I pay for my Subscription?
SUBSCRIBE — Monthly Subscriptions
We are April Showers Investments CC trading as Lingerie Letters.
No need to be alarmed when you see the payment reference “APRILSHOW”, “LINLET” or “LINGERI” on your bank statement or SMS notification.
It’s just your Subscription payment that’s gone off — not baddies trying to steal your hard-earned cash. 😉
We accept Visa / Mastercard via Paystack for our Monthly Subscription.
- When you sign up, your first Subscription payment is taken immediately.
- Thereafter, your Monthly Recurring Knicker Subscription is automatically charged when your next renewal payment is due (usually on the 16th of each month).
- You’ll be redirected to the secure Paystack payment page during checkout to enter your card details and complete your bank’s 3D Secure authentication.
- Your card details are securely tokenised by Paystack, allowing future monthly Subscription payments to be processed automatically without you needing to enter your card details again.
GIFT — Pre-paid Gift Subscriptions
Gift Subscriptions are paid upfront and can be paid via Visa / Mastercard through Paystack or Bank Transfer (Manual EFT).
- If you select Pay by Card: Your Visa / Mastercard is charged once when your order is successfully placed. This is a once-off payment and your Gift Subscription will automatically expire after your chosen 3, 6 or 12-month period.
- If you select Bank Transfer (Manual EFT): You’ll receive an order confirmation email containing our bank account details. Please use your Order Number as your payment reference and send us your Proof of Payment (POP) once payment has been made. Your order will be processed once payment and POP have been received.
Please note: Unpaid Bank Transfer (Manual EFT) orders will be cancelled after 48 hours.
Do I have to re-order my Subscription every month?
Monthly Subscriptions — Nope!
This is an auto-renewing monthly subscription, charged via Visa / Mastercard.
Your Subscription automatically renews on the 16th of each month.
Opt out anytime.
Pre-paid Gift Subscriptions — Yup!
This is a once-off upfront payment, made via Visa / Mastercard or Bank Transfer (Manual EFT).
Gift Subscriptions automatically expire after your chosen 3, 6 or 12-month period.
Can I cancel my Subscription?
We get it — sometimes even the fullest Knicker Drawer needs a little breathing room.
Our Monthly Recurring Knicker Subscriptions renew monthly, with the next renewal payment due around the 16th of each month.
If you’d like to cancel your Monthly Recurring Knicker Subscription, you can do so from My Account → Subscriptions → Cancel before your next renewal payment is due. Alternatively, you’re welcome to email Lily at [email protected] and she’ll be happy to assist.
There are no lock-ins or cancellation fees. Once your cancellation has been processed, no further monthly subscription payments will be charged.
Already been charged for your next Lingerie Letter? Your cancellation will take effect for future renewals, rather than reversing a payment that has already been processed.
What about Pre-paid Gift Subscriptions?
Our Pre-paid Knicker Gift Subscriptions are paid upfront for a fixed 3-, 6- or 12-month period and do not automatically renew. They simply end after the selected subscription period, so there is no recurring payment to cancel.

How long does delivery take?
Once your parcel has been collected by the courier, delivery usually takes:
- Local: 1–3 business days
- National: 3–5 business days
- Outlying areas: 5–7 business days
All subscriptions include nationwide door-to-door courier delivery throughout South Africa, worth R90.
Can I change my shipping address?
Moving? No problem!
You can update your delivery address at any time from My Account → Addresses → Edit shipping address. If you have an active subscription, make sure your new shipping address is also applied to your active subscription(s) so future Lingerie Letters are sent to the correct address.
Alternatively, you’re more than welcome to pop Lily an email at [email protected] should you require her assistance.
Our Knicker Style
What styles are available?
Our Knickers come in a variety of styles, from fuller coverage to barely-there favourites. Depending on your chosen Style (coverage preference), your monthly surprise could be:
Full Coverage
Hipster, Brief, Bikini or Tanga
Barely-There
Cheekie, Thong, G-string or T-string
Can I choose my Knicker style?
Not quite! That’s where the surprise comes in. You choose your Style (coverage preference), and your Panty Pen Pal, Lily Chantilly, chooses the specific Knicker style, design, fabric and colour for you.
Choose Full Coverage for a fuller-coverage surprise, Barely-There for a barely-there favourite, or Surprise Me and let Lily choose between Full Coverage and Barely-There for you — usually alternating between the two each month.
So, while you can’t choose the exact style, you can choose your preferred level of coverage. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, let Lily choose that too! The rest is her little secret.

Our Knickers are currently available in XS to XXL.

Oh no! I’ve chosen the wrong Style or Size for my Subscription. How can I change it?
Changed your mind or picked the wrong size?
If you’d like to change your Style (coverage preference) or Size, simply email Lily at [email protected] before your next renewal payment is due, and she’ll update your preferences for you.
You can choose between Full Coverage, Barely-There or Surprise Me:
- Full Coverage includes Briefs, Bikinis, Hipsters and Tangas.
- Barely-There includes Cheekies, Thongs, G-strings and T-strings.
- Surprise Me usually alternates between Full Coverage and Barely-There styles.
Remember, your coverage choice determines the range of styles Lily can choose from — you don’t choose the exact Knicker style or design. That’s part of the surprise!

The Past Pairs Boutique Shop
What is the Past Pairs Boutique?
Not every pair has to be a surprise! If you prefer to choose your own style, fabric, colour and size, the Past Pairs Boutique gives you the chance to shop previous Lingerie Letters designs as once-off online purchases.
The Boutique features a changing selection of limited-edition, handmade Knickers, including styles such as Hipsters, Briefs, Bikinis, Tangas, Cheekies, Thongs, G-strings and T-strings, depending on availability.
All Past Pairs are designed and handmade in small batches in Cape Town, South Africa. Because we work with limited fabrics and trims, individual styles, sizes and quantities are limited, and designs are not routinely remade.
So, if you prefer the fun of choosing exactly what you want, Past Pairs are for you. If you love the excitement of not knowing what Lily will choose, the Lingerie Letters Subscription is for you.
Are Past Pairs a once-off purchase?
Yes! All Past Pairs are once-off purchases. Buying a Past Pair does not sign you up for a Subscription or any recurring payments.
How can I pay for my Past Pairs Boutique order?

She’ll choose her Knicker size and Style (coverage preference), while her Panty Pen Pal, Lily, chooses the exact Knicker style and design — so there’s still a lovely surprise waiting in every Lingerie Letter.

How do Gift Vouchers work?

Choose a 3, 6 or 12-month Gift Voucher, depending on how long you’d like her Lingerie Letters surprise to last. All Pre-paid Gift Subscriptions save 10% compared with paying month-to-month.
2. Choose when she receives it
Her Gift Voucher is delivered digitally by email on the date you choose.
3. She redeems her voucher
The recipient redeems the voucher online for the corresponding Pre-paid Knicker Gift Subscription.
4. She chooses her size and Style
She chooses her Knicker size and Style (coverage preference): Full Coverage, Barely-There or Surprise Me.
5. Lily chooses the surprise
This is where the fun comes in! Lily chooses the exact Knicker style and design, so she won’t know exactly what’s arriving until her Lingerie Letter lands.
6. Her Lingerie Letters arrive each month
Her handmade Knickers are sent monthly, with nationwide door-to-door courier delivery throughout South Africa included. The Pre-paid Gift Subscription automatically ends after the selected 3, 6 or 12 months, with no recurring monthly charges.
Don’t know her underwear size? No problem!
That’s one of the best things about a Lingerie Letters Gift Voucher — you don’t need to know her size when you buy it. She chooses her own size and Style when she redeems the voucher, so there’s no guessing involved.
Please note:
3, 6 and 12-month Gift Vouchers can only be redeemed for the matching 3, 6 or 12-month Pre-paid Knicker Gift Subscription. Gift Vouchers cannot be used for individual purchases from our Past Pairs Boutique Shop.
Are Gift Vouchers a once-off purchase?
Yes! Gift Vouchers are once-off purchases. There are no recurring payments or subscriptions associated with your Gift Voucher.

How does sizing work?
Choosing the right Knicker size doesn’t have to be tricky. Our Knickers are ethically handmade in Cape Town, South Africa, and each size is made to the measurements shown in our Size Chart.
Because sizing can vary between brands and retailers, the best way to choose your Lingerie Letters size is to measure yourself and compare your measurements with our Size Chart.
Our measurements are specific to Lingerie Letters and may differ from the size you normally wear elsewhere. If you’re buying from us for the first time, we recommend checking your measurements rather than relying on your usual clothing or underwear size.

Does Lingerie Letters deliver all over South Africa?
Yes! We deliver nationwide throughout South Africa, with discreet door-to-door courier delivery.

Where are Lingerie Letters Knickers made?
Our Knickers are designed and handmade with love in our small studio in Cape Town, South Africa, where all aspects of our production take place — from fabric sourcing, pattern making and sampling to cutting, sewing, wrapping, packing and shipping.
Each pair of Knickers is carefully cut and sewn by hand using thoughtfully selected fabrics, elastics and trims, with quality always taking priority over quantity.
We don’t mass-produce our Knickers. Instead, our designs are made in small batches, and we use end-of-line materials whenever possible to help reduce waste and make the most of limited resources.
Because our fabrics and materials are limited, our designs are limited edition and not routinely remade — making every Lingerie Letter a little different.
Are there any hidden costs?
Nope — what you see is what you get! There are no hidden fees or surprise charges.

A fixed R90 courier delivery fee is added to all Past Pairs Boutique orders.

Shipping & Returns
When will my Lingerie Letter be delivered?
There is a monthly cut-off at midnight on the 15th of each month for new Subscription sign-ups. This gives us enough time to make your Knickers, get everything packed and ready, and ship your Lingerie Letter from around the 16th of the following month.
For example, if you subscribe on 10 September, your first Lingerie Letter will be made and shipped in October.
We deliver nationwide throughout South Africa via discreet, door-to-door courier.
You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number and information on how to track your parcel.
Keep a lookout for your Courier between approximately the 20th and 25th of the month. Once your parcel has been collected by the Courier, delivery usually takes:
- Local: 1–3 business days
- National: 3–5 business days
- Outlying areas: 5–7 business days
All Subscriptions include FREE door-to-door courier delivery.
Please make sure you, or someone you trust, is available to sign for your parcel. Our Couriers deliver during office hours, Monday to Friday, so if you’re not usually at home during the day, we recommend using an alternative daytime delivery address, such as your workplace.
If the Courier is unable to deliver your parcel, they will contact you using the telephone number provided with your order to arrange another delivery attempt. If the parcel is eventually returned to us because the Courier is unable to reach you after multiple attempts, re-shipping costs will apply.
When will my Past Pairs Boutique Order be delivered?
Your Past Pairs Boutique order will be processed as soon as your payment has been received and cleared.
Once your order has been collected by the Courier, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number and information on how to track your parcel.
We deliver nationwide throughout South Africa via discreet, door-to-door courier.
Delivery usually takes:
- Local: 1–3 business days
- National: 3–5 business days
- Outlying areas: 5–7 business days

What is your Returns Policy?
Because our Knickers are intimate garments, we don’t accept returns on Past Pairs Boutique Shop or Subscription orders for hygiene reasons.
We therefore recommend checking the size, fit, style, fabric and product description carefully before ordering. If an item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Lily at [email protected] within 14 days of receiving your order.
Damaged or faulty items may be exchanged. If we don’t have a suitable replacement or a product of similar value available, we’ll issue a refund instead.
